Updating Windows frequently is recommended, at least once a month.  There are updates and patches for security vulnerability, others address bugs and other issues with Windows. Below are the instructions to run Windows updates.


1. In the bottom left corner of the screen, click on the Windows Start button.




2. Click on "Settings" (the gear icon).




3. Click on "Update and Security."



4. Click on "Windows Update," and then "Check for updates."


 

5. Install any updates showing.  The computer might need to be rebooted to complete an update.  Keep repeating the update process until there are no more updates available.
